The Insect Zoo

The late summer and early fall months present many opportunities for teaching young children new educational concepts (or reviewing old concepts) using fun, attention-grabbing methods. Building an Insect Zoo inside your classroom (or homeschool environment) is such a method and will truly be a hit! Insects are everywhere! Consequently, they will be easy to have on hand in a classroom for hands-on exploration and discovery learning.
The “Insect Zoo” unit is divided into areas of literature, music, art, literacy activities/worksheets, math activities/worksheets, creative writing and guided reading. The activities are clearly written, easy to use, and need limited amounts of preparation. The lessons (games or activities) included are scripted. They are written in a format that can be easily taught by the teacher or readily handed off to a parent volunteer or a classroom aide with complete confidence that objectives of the lesson will be reached.

For great thematic ideas and scripted curriculum, consider purchasing our new unit on our TPT store. Click on the icon below for a direct link!
